What a great trip! Cliff Wold’s did a fantastic job coordinating shuttle and being available for our departure and return trip. We went with the complete outfitting package, and added some camp chairs. The camp chairs were a great addition, as well as using the Kevlar canoe which was much easier to manage on portages. The meals available each day were well organized and they supplied everything needed to cook and eat. We highly recommend visiting the BWCA and using Cliff Wold’s Outfitting, Ryan will have you all setup and ready for your adventure!
As a first timer to the boundary waters, there are so many directions I could take to praise Ryan and the team at Cliff Wold’s. The gear and supplies they provided were top-notch, but where they really make a difference is in helping you figure out what you need and don’t need, helping you plan your trip, patiently answering any questions you have…
They were just amazing. We took a satellite phone on the trip and even texted to ask questions as we considered changing our route. They were very helpful in letting us know which portages might be a little too much, etc.

Cliff Wold’s has it all covered! The staff is great! They gave us a gear orientation the day before our departure. Everything was packed neatly, clean, and ready for use. They picked us up at a provided campsite on time and took us to our launch point. And picked us up at a designated time 5 days later! The meals were also great! I would not waste time looking for another outfitter. Thank you Cliff Wold’s, our group had a great time!
Cliff Wolds is an outstanding outfitter for boundary waters. Helpful with trip planning, they secured us an entry permit and kept watch on an entry point we wanted that was not available. They contacted us a week before that an opening in our desired entry was available and grabbed it for us. The gear is fantastic and the food was great. They have improved over the years where others have cut corners. There is no way you could acquire the gear needed to make it affordable to equip yourself unless you did multiple trips trips a year. You can choose cliff wolds and not worry about your choice.
