If you’re searching for a unique dog park in Chisholm, Minnesota, Redhead Mountain Bike Park stands out for its breathtaking views and exceptional trail design. While it is primarily celebrated for its mountain bike trails, the setting around the old mine lake and the proximity to the Minnesota Discovery Center make it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and pet owners alike.
The trails are well-marked and vary in difficulty, providing options for beginners and experienced riders. The area is praised for its beautiful lake vistas, clear signage, and well-maintained facilities such as a spacious parking lot, changing rooms, and restrooms. Although amenities are tailored toward bikers, dog owners will enjoy the scenic surroundings and pet-friendly environment that encourages exploration (on-leash for all hiking/walking areas). This makes Redhead Mountain Bike Park an excellent spot for dog-friendly hiking and outings with your pet.
A beautiful site to see from the trail. Next to the MN Discovery Center in Chisilm MN.
Exceptionally well built and signed in a beautiful environment. This is instantly one of my favorite systems in Minnesota.
This is an awesome set of mountain bike trails overlooking a lake that used to be a mine. I’m very excited to come back to ride some of the new trails they are working on building. Beautiful views. Nice parking area with changing rooms and toilets.
Being a destination mountain bike park for most, I do recommend it, especially coming from Duluth. The hour and a half drive is worth it but not enough where I want to go back every week. Reminds me of Cuyuna but a lot smaller. The trials are clearly labeled with maps everywhere and stating if they are one or two ways. It’s mostly packed down clay with some rocky and sandy parts. The greens and light blues are definitely good for beginners and anyone looking to get into mountain biking. I did really enjoy the Zen and tough mama trails as easier trails with fun lines to get some air. Recommend trying the black diamonds if you have experience because they aren’t that hard unless you really push yourself. The views are fantastic too. Not a big deal since the people were respectful but the park says no hiking on MTB trails and we still encountered people hiking.
These trails are awesome! We had so much fun riding here. The trails are challenging but great at the same time. The climbs are difficult but the downhill runs make it all worth it. If you are into mountain biking then these trails are a must. Also the views are breath taking.
