Arrowhead Trail Trailhead Parking provides access to a secluded and scenic pet-friendly hiking trail in Hovland, MN. This remote location is best known for its beautiful, quiet atmosphere, making it an excellent choice for dog owners who want a tranquil nature experience alongside their furry friends. The trail is ideal for more able-bodied hikers and offers a unique wilderness adventure near the North Shore.
While the trail is a great escape for dog lovers in the area, be aware that as of July 2024, a washed-out bridge about five minutes into the hike may make the river crossing challenging, especially for dogs. There are no indications of designated off-leash or fenced areas, but the natural setting makes it a wonderful spot for leashed dog-walking in Hovland. Ample parking is available at the trailhead to make your visit convenient.
As of July 15, 2024 about 5 minutes in to this hike, there is a bridge that is washed away at the river crossing. You could try hopping across the rocks, but with our dog, we didn’t want to risk it. Turned around. Otherwise nice and remote, secluded trail that I would recommend for more able bodied hikers.
