Located at 15 Riverside Ave, Cricket Field in Johnston, RI is a pet-friendly local park with a relaxed, natural vibe. This charming spot welcomes both dogs and kids, making it a favorite for families seeking a peaceful stroll or some outdoor time in northern Rhode Island. Though it is on the smaller side, the park boasts beautiful water views and plenty of shade, perfect for dog lovers searching for a dog park in Johnston, Rhode Island with scenic areas and pet-friendly trails.
Accessibility is a highlight, as the park features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking lot. You’ll find the environment welcoming but note Cricket Field is not fully fenced in. Still, the unfenced exits are distant from the main play and walking areas, so cautious dog owners may feel comfortable letting their pups roam on-leash. The park is known for its natural beauty, friendly vibe, and opportunities for animal and bird watching. Keep in mind, maintenance can vary and the trash bins may occasionally be full.
Small but quite cute. I like to take my dog for a walk here although it is not 100% fenced in, the exit areas are far away. At night it is nice but cars tend to go there with young people drinking and smoking pot.
This place is quaint and dog friendly. It’s beautiful and always has at least some shade.
Beautiful little park on the water
First time visiting here, it looks very abandoned. Sad to say they don’t maintain it very well. Grass was outgrown, water seemed very polluted with greasy film on top. I see a huge potential for this park. However, I don’t know why it’s in such bad shape?? Smithfield town Hall needs to make some adjustments. Overall, my toddler and I had a nice stroll around and we saw a snap turtle and cute black bird with red stripe. Please clean it up! Trash cans smelled terrible and were overflowing. I’ll edit my rating if these things change.
It’s a decent place to go to clear your head there is pretty good fishing 🎣 there for the most part huge pickrel
