Waterman St. Dog Park is a popular, pet-friendly escape located right in the heart of Providence, Rhode Island. Tucked away at 320 Waterman St, this unique urban dog park offers a woodland feel with thick brush, wooded trails, and several shady clearings that make every visit an adventure for your four-legged friend. It’s a favorite for dogs and owners alike who seek a natural retreat without leaving the city, providing dog-friendly hiking and ample opportunity for pet-friendly exploration.
The park’s expansive layout includes a large main area, a smaller fenced section for small dogs, and numerous spots to relax among the trees. Amenities include water spouts for thirsty pups, complimentary poop bags, trash bins at the entrance, and convenient street parking. Whether your dog loves running on pet-friendly trails or relaxing in the shade, Waterman St. Dog Park is among the best dog parks in Providence for allowing dogs to be off-leash, socialize, and play in a clean, well-kept environment.
I love it here, most dog owners are respectful and clean up after their dogs. I love that it’s in the city but it’s like we’re in the woods which is ultimately our favorite place. My girl gets lost in the thick brush chasing whatever brave squirrel decides to come into the dog park LOL. They also have trash bags for your dogs if you forget and a water spout where you can refill water bowls if your dog gets thirsty. All in all it’s a great place and a great use of space.
LARGE space for a city park.
Interesting design for a dog park.
It’s mostly overgrown and wooded with trails through the space and several clearing where chairs have been set.
It may be difficult for people to pick up their dogs’ poop if the dog goes out of cleared sections. Large areas seem to have been taken over by weed trees/bushes. Definitely needs to be trimmed back.
Water, bags, and trash are only at the entrance.
Separate section for small dogs, but that section is nowhere near the size of the main section.
Always clean. There is so much space for the dogs to run and play. Groups of trees to explore. The dogs are always well supervised. The humans are always friendly
Really great park. Not the biggest but probably the most interesting for my dogs: woods, shade, trails, lots of stuff to explore. Street parking is convenient.
Wonderful and well-cared-for canine oasis at the river’s edge on the East Side of Providence. Mulch filled paths to walk and a field to run in and play fetch. Poopy bags available. Private small dog area.
