Super fun place, seems like more park enforcement than before which is great because the place has never looked cleaner. I seriously saw zero litter for two days. The restrooms were also super clean. 10/10. The random food truck that shows up at the bait shop is a treasure on its own.
Fantastic place to camp and have lake days! Campsites are clean and well maintained, include flushing toilets and showers that are also clean (for camping).
The marina store has the essentials if you forget something, and you can rent boats, jet skis, etc
Great stop when passing through Kansas , several campgrounds , most require a little walk to the bathhouse . Clean lake , lots of access . Switchgrass mountain bike trails are within the park and super nice .
The lovegrass bluegrass festival was about to kick off as well . Water and electric hookup at the sites , dump station station is fairly convenient .
Even though I couldn’t camp in my tent because of the high winds and storms, I absolutely loved this state park and campsite and plan to come all the way back from South Carolina some day.
I stayed in the Foxtail campgrounds where some cabins are located and there’s fantastic views of lake Wilson and the empty plains beyond. Quite a beautiful drive to get there as well. 5 stars!
Fantastic campground. Beautiful country. Easy trailer parking. Only negative this is the tiny little porcupine burrs. Kinda rough for the long hair dogs. And very sharp.
