I used to go here all the time after work or weekends. The hike down by the river is quite, cool, and beautiful. It is rare to come across any others when hiking here. The hike down to the feature most people want to see, the falls, it about 1.25 miles. I highly recommend taking the detour and visiting Spring falls near the split at the picnic area. If you continue past the falls, you get to a gorgeous overlook of the Clinch River
Nice enough. Very popular if you like to fish. It’s an easy walk beside the river on a gated gravel access road. The falls are pretty. Might be good for a dip in the water on hot days. Fair warning, if you don’t like swinging bridges, you won’t access the trails.
Very interesting nature preserve, no cost to enter. Just be prepared for a long twisting road that has some scenic views and some sad (old or poor housing) views. Great opportunities for hiking, picnicking, walking your dogs, and sitting to enjoy nature. The preserve is home to some rare flora and fauna per the sign, and the creek is stocked with trout. The namesake pinnacle is more hike than we wanted.
Lovely Trail, easy hike to Pinnacle viewpoint. I recommend going past it to Big Cedar Creek, makes a round trip about 4 MI. This time of year it is gorgeous. The trail skirts the creek most of the way and there are some offshoots up the hill for some Vistas and a little more strenuous hike. Came on a weekday, plenty of parking, Porta-Potty, picnic benches, really a lovely spot.
Beautiful trail with a swinging bridge, a few different bench spots along the path, an area with covered picnic tables, a nice wide path, and the falls. I totally suggest walking the extra .1 mile to spring falls. It is well worth the short side trip. Clearly marked signs throughout the path. Overall, it was an absolutely wonderful experience. We encountered many types of wildlife along the way, including crawdads, butterflies, a blue heron, an eagle, and fish. It was awesome. As always, wear comfortable grippy shoes, and PLEASE carry out anything you bring in with you!
