Great park for the pups and kids to play. It is very clean and a peaceful place to unwind in the middle of Buckhead. The also have movies in the park every Thursday evening in October with food trucks!

Park is a complete mud pit and entirely unusable. AMLI apartments are responsible for maintaining the park and have completely let it go and are unresponsive if you try to reach out through the posted park phone numbers.

I used to take my dog to this park on our walks to let them experience the grassy field; however, this is becoming more and more difficult with the volume of pet waste that isn’t properly picked up and disposed of by residents of the adjoining AMLI buildings. Nearly every morning there are 5-10 new piles of waste, big and small, whose owners have been negligent to collect and dispose of. Some of the worst offenders are the ones whose pet’s waste is within a literal arm’s reach of the pet collection station. This problem is a disgusting affront to our community and the legacy of Marie Sims. As of today the park has been transformed from a lush green space to an abominable toilet for the inconsiderate and lazy pet owners.

Would rate it higher if pet owners actually picked up after their pets after they go to the bathroom, and kept dogs on leash as the rules state. If you want to go off leash, do it at a dog park meant for it or somewhere else. I have had dogs run up to mine unwelcome, without knowing whether or not these dogs might attack my own, whilst their owners say it’s fine. It especially when it stresses a leashed dog to be approached by one off leash, and has made enjoying the park or bird viewing hard.

Not an ideal place for dog walks, better as decorative walk with no pets? I’d drive a bit further to Buford highway parks for my dog. It’s too cramped and it can’t be good for their psyche either.
