Great rail trail that is always nicely maintained. Wide and paved the whole way with some diversions through neighborhoods and onto sidewalks as you get closer to the north end. Plenty of parking on the south end near downtown and the splash pad. Great way to walk or bike back and forth between downtown and the homes, schools, and park. A few cool off-shoot trails to explore. Nice walk over the water on an old trestle bridge.
The Fam and I have been biking/running/walking this trail for a long time..definitely a fantastic experience. Stopped by and Ran a little over 4 miles in the wee hours this AM on the way back home.. They now have a kiddo splash pad and playground area across the street. Great place for Family. Has complete wheelchair access. Close to food and gas. Lots of lighting…and a Superb view of the sunrise 🌅.
The first mile of this trail was one of the most enjoyable trail walks I’ve ever been on. Well marked, meticulously maintained and clean, scenic with bluffs on one side and the river/lake on the other, cool little fitness stops along the way, a good mixture of direct sunlight and shade. I enjoyed the wildlife and the sounds of the birds. I even saw a baby alligator resting at the water’s edge (a safe distance away). The bridge is great. I kept walking, because I understood that it was a three mile trail. It’s not. It’s a 2.15 mile trail (if the markings are correct). The pavement and the trail itself end abruptly at that spot. It’s clearly the end. So rather than just retrace my steps, I decided to take the little dirt road to the left which headed back, through a campground, and eventually joined the trail again. So all together it was about 4 and a half miles. I didn’t mind too much, because I needed the exercise, but it definitely wasn’t a 3 mile trail by any estimation. All the pictures I took are from the first mile, which was, as I mentioned, very enjoyable. Oh by the way, I didn’t see any restrooms on the trail. Thankfully I didn’t need one. 😏
Took an afternoon bike ride on this beautiful, paved trail. It is well maintained, peaceful and a fun ride. There are several stretching stations along the beginning part of the trail. Also a water fountain. Passed a few people walking, and on bikes. Cute eclectic features on the trail also views of Lake Eufaula. Saw some wildlife…snake, gator in the lake, birds butterflies and of course some squirrels!
I found this walking trail to be very interesting. This is down the road from the “downtown” area of Eufaula. There are many old buildings with character around the trail. It is clean, and the city does a good job with flora.
