Gene Birk Dog Park is a new and inviting dog park located within the scenic Tracy Hills community of Tracy, California. Surrounded by beautiful views, including a glimpse of Ellis Town, this dog park is perfect for residents seeking a peaceful, dog-friendly outing. With ample grassy areas and two pet-friendly walking trails nearby, it’s an excellent destination for both exercise and relaxation for you and your canine companion.
This park is well maintained and features a fenced area for dogs to safely enjoy off-leash playtime. There are separate sections for large and small dogs, though some visitors comment that the large dog area might be on the smaller side for bigger breeds. Easily accessible via gravel paths, Gene Birk Dog Park is especially convenient for those looking for a quiet spot away from crowded city parks. It’s situated a short walk from nearby parking, and while it lacks shade, water fountains are available—though the water pressure may be low. Its quiet atmosphere and open space make it a hidden gem for dog owners in Tracy looking for dog-friendly hiking or a new place for pups to socialize.
Great dog park! But all we need are dogs! Lol, we want our dogs to socialize ,but hardly any dogs are here. We have an 6 month old puppy that wants to play with other dogs
The Large Dog Area is too small! It should be 4x the size. Not more than 4 Large Dogs can really utilize it as other dogs would be invading its space.
There is no shade. Even at 8:30am, the sun is beating down hard.
Looks like a Dog Professional wasn’t consulted when this park was built.
They should have checked out the Bray Commons Dog Park in Pleasanton before building this park.
Signage that the hooomans accompanying the dogs off leash at this ark should understand dog body language. The couple we encountered literally freaked out when my dog started asking to play with a play bow. When his dog consented and they were running around, this hooooman freaked out! I’m sorry but he is doing his dog a disservice. Poor dog.
No restroom nearby considering it’s a pretty isolated park.
Water pressure for the water for the dog’s to drink is very very low.
It looks nice and it’s new but using grass means this will disintegrate pretty quickly and during the rainy season it will be a bloody mess.
New hidden gem of dog parks here in Tracy. It’s a ways into Tracy Hills but great spot! No street parking next to it but there is parking about 1/4 of a mile up or at the playground a little before the dog park. Easy gravel path and all that you would want in a dog park!
Very open lots of room for our Black Russian Terriers. Grass and park well maintained
The scenery in this park is amazing. I could see the Ellis town from here. There are two walking trails in this place. And it was quiet when I went there. Overall, it’s a great dog park to visit especially if you have dogs and looking for a dog-friendly place in Tracy Hills.
