Pecan Valley Park is a popular destination for dog owners seeking a scenic, pet-friendly park in Fort Worth, Texas. Nestled near the lake and close to the Trinity Trails, the park offers a wealth of shade provided by mature trees, making it ideal for walks and picnics in warmer months. The park is known for its well-maintained grassy areas, unique hiking and biking trails, and tranquil atmosphere, making it a hidden gem for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
While there is no designated fenced off-leash dog park, Pecan Valley Park features pet-friendly trails perfect for leashed walks, shaded picnic areas, covered tables, trash bins, and easy trail connections at the Winscott Road Art Cowsen Trailhead. Visitors appreciate the clean and peaceful environment, wildlife sightings, and the proximity to flower-filled trails and BMX ramps. Although water fountains may not always be operational and restrooms are not available, the park’s serene setting and convenience to both dogs and their owners make it a great option for outdoor outings.
What a romantic spot for an elopement! The grass is well maintained and it is never crowded. DFWeds.com did a great job with the set up!
I nice little hidden gem in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Really unique hiking trails with some cool bmx ramps in the mix. Lots of wildlife to be seen. Plenty of spring time flowers throughout the trails as well.
I learned the hard way not to enter the portion of the park off of Lakeside Drive. I always wondered why it seemed so dead when I drove by. It’s nothing more than a shaded area with about a dozen picnic tables and covered in trash. It’s a shame this area isn’t maintained.
I knew there had to be another area because of the ratings and discovered another entrance off Winscott Road at the Art Cowsen Trailhead. This portion connects with the Trinity Trails. It’s heavily shaded (huge plus!), clean, and bike, dog and running/walking friendly. There are side trails too if you don’t want to stay on the standard cement area. Will definitely be coming back.
Great range, 11 bucks for a large bucket. Quite spot below Mira Vista country club. The courses are both in good shape year round. Good bang for your buck.
Great shady area for cooking out and playing some cornhole. Nice clean picnic tables, grills and empty trash cans! Very good and thank you to whoever cleans up at this park. There was no restrooms though, and no where to get a drink of water. There looked to be old water fountains but they where no longer working. Great place though. Very close to the lake.
